I still use it and it works for me. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to make any further updates. Perhaps it is just hibernating.

Can someone answer, is this project dead or not? The last release was at Mar 31 2010 (one YEAR ago) and it has status beta! Will project have new realizations, for example update to newest versions of MVC e.t.c

I didn't. The project that I was working on got cut, and I haven't had
a chance to do it on my own time yet. There is always a backlog of
projects!

New Post: Integrating Atomsite into MVC 2 application?

I've been asked to look at adding a blog engine to an existing MVC 2 web app.

The ideal, I think is to include the atomsite into a subdirectory of the site like this: www.mysite.com/blog/

Is this a reasonable approach?

Would the MVC "areas" be a reasonable approach to integration? With areas, you end up with multiple Areas, like admin, blog, cms, etc all set up in sub-directories and each with their own set of model, view, controller folders.

Any advice would be appreciated.

.NET 4/MVC 2 migration sounds cool, however I propose to at least maintain an MVC 1.0 branch. The rational behind this proposal is that Mono supports only MVC 1.0. I don't think that running AtomSite on Mono is in the current requirements list, but it would be an advantage over the other .NET blog engines and a cool marketing point.

I've been working on it, and it is fairly straightforward. Now I just need to figure out how to produce a patch using TFS!

I noticed that there is a VS 2010 solution file in the source, but it doesn't build out of the box, as it still depends on MVC1, not MVC2 as included in VS 2010. Is there a plan to release AtomSite on .NET 4/MVC2?

I'm investigating mongo/raven for another project that stores data as XML in a hope to improve performance (not that I think blogsvc suffers with performance issues)

Is the license compatible with the one blogsvc uses?

Hi,

I downloaded the source code of AtomSite with the intention of learning about asp.net MVC from it, but being a post-grad student, i only have VS 2008 Express (all langs including WebDev) and cannot load the entire project (something about this version not including project subfolders??) Also i would like to use the framework to develop my own site, and always like to understand code I use as best I can when it isnt my own ;-)

Can anyone recommend a solution to this? I mainly program for the desktop in Java and C/C#, so am not overly adept with VS, perhaps there is some simple solution I do not see?
Alternatively (also), can anyone recommend decent resources for learning MVC for an experienced desktop developer? I am starting to get my head around some of the main difference between web and desktop development, but some of the intricacies of the MVC framework allude me, and the MS (on www.asp.net) tutorials really leave alot to the imagination!

Bhanu, you don't need the folder additionalwidgetsplugin.1.4.0.0, in it you'll see a bin folder and a themes folder in it.

The contents of the bin folder should go to the bin folder of your root.

The contents of the themes folder should go to the themes folder of your root.
