Please let me know how to make theme for AtomSite, if there is any documentation or tutorials.

In my theme i have different sections and basically in those sections i want to display top 2-3 post from different categories.

So basically on my home page i don't want to display the post in the order they are posted but i pull post from different categories.

It would be great if someone can guide me on how to go ahead with that, sample documentation and code is always helpful :-)

Something like this is what i am trying to get.

This site is made on wordpress
If is possible to make such site on AtomSite?

There's no widget that displays posts only per Category (like the BlogRecentWidget), but creating one should be rather strait forward.

Let me know, and I'll hook up a small plugin for you that does this.

There's one thing that I don't understand in the image you attached, and that's the select available for the Cities.

Is cities the category, and each singly city a post? or are there multiple posts per city?

The problem is that there's no nested categories in AtomSite (yet at least), which might be a problem for this desired result.

Thanks For your Help erik. It will be gr8 if you can post some plugin.

The image i posted i took it up from this site I am trying to create something similar

As of now i don't have nested categories.

I am a ASP.NET and C# Developer with 1.5 year of exp. Haven't worked on MVC yet but i am checking it out now.

I had recently started exploring BlogEngine.Net but i like AtomeSite because you compare yourself with Wordpress and even looks the same, I have worked on wordpress would like something similar on .NET platform also.

Hey Bhanu.

Have a look at (the source is here).

Unzip it to the root of your AtomSite deployment and enter the admin->Widgets, and you should see a new widget called "RecentPostsForCategory".

Choose your collection and category, and the amount of posts to show, and you're done.

You can customize the display at themes\default\RecentPostsForCategoryWidget.ascx.

Have copied the folder to the root folder but cannot see it in admin >> Widgets

Bhanu, you don't need the folder additionalwidgetsplugin., in it you'll see a bin folder and a themes folder in it.

The contents of the bin folder should go to the bin folder of your root.

The contents of the themes folder should go to the themes folder of your root.
